Dear friends and board,

I think this last week has been very difficult for our whole world. The situation in Haiti is heart-wrenching and likely will become more so. The economic news - particularly from Greece and China - is daunting ... and we all know who suffers first and most from economic hard times.

At the same time we know that hard times are when we ordinary folks step up and help one another out. What we have - goods, prayers, services, a listening ear - we share.

Stay strong. Mourning is part of life and builds community. Helping another with deepest respect is among life's highest attainments.
